Tim Allen has become an iconic star for many because he seems to be a genuine guy who doesn’t push the woke agenda.

His fan base loves him because you can watch his shows without cringing, and they can’t seem to get enough.

Now Tim Allen just let his fans know that he is shifting gears with this big announcement.

Comedian Tim Allen won people’s hearts with Home Improvement and Last Man Standing.

And he is looking to come back to network television with his conservative, blue-collar ethic.

New Tim Allen sitcom

Allen is busy at work on the pilot for an ABC sitcom called Shifting Gears.

ABC is the network where he starred for eight seasons as Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor on Home Improvement in the 1990s and where Last Man Standing spent six of its nine seasons before it moved over to Fox.

Fox abruptly canceled Last Man Standing despite strong ratings, but fan outcry brought the show back.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that “Shifting Gears revolves around Matt (Allen), a stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”

Allen is set to star and serve as executive producer on the show.

Other producers on the show are veterans of Everybody Loves Raymond, The Simpsons, and Parks and Recreation.

Allen wrote on Twitter, “We are at it again! ABC just ordered a comedy pilot, Shifting Gears.”

Allen’s co-star revealed

Shifting Gears just added a big piece to the puzzle.

Experienced sitcom actress Kat Dennings is joining Shifting Gears to play Matt’s daughter Riley.

Deadline reported that “Dennings’ Riley butted heads with her father growing up and left to marry the boyfriend he hated. Now divorced, Riley’s forced to move back home with two kids, hoping she and her dad can make it work this time.”

Dennings is comfortable with the sitcom genre after playing one of the co-leads on 2 Broke Girls for six seasons.

Dennings has also been featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

She recently reprised her role as Darcy Lewis from the Thor series in the Disney+ series WandaVision.

Shifting Gears is now taking shape with the top two stars in place.

Allen’s career is proof that there is still a yearning for shows that speak to the middle of the country.

In early 2017, Allen almost had to apologize for attending Donald Trump’s inauguration during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.

Allen said that Hollywood felt like “1930s Germany” with so much anti-Republican hostility.
