Sports collectables are not just memories for sports fans, they are big business and bring in top dollars from fans and collectors.

While not every item of sports memorabilia sells for a premium, there are some gems in the mix.

But Travis Kelce jerseys are now more valuable than ever for a very strange reason that has never happened in the NFL before.

Kelce Jersey’s could sell for top dollar thanks to Taylor Swift

Even if you don’t consider yourself a football fan, there’s a very good chance that you’ve heard of Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.

Now, just about any gear that belonged to Kelce is growing in value, and it’s doing so by leaps and bounds.

Goldin Auctions has launched its second annual Goldin 100 event in New York, which showcases some of the most valuable and rarest collectibles over a range of categories.

This year, the auction snagged a rarity: Travis Kelce’s 2014 first-year jersey with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The now-famous tight end scored the first touchdown catch of his career while wearing No. 87, which is the jersey Goldin chose to auction during its exclusive event.

CEO and founder of Goldin Auctions, Ken Goldin, told Fox News Digital that Kelce likely would not have been featured in the special Goldin 100 auction if it weren’t for his newfound fame thanks to his relationship with girlfriend and pop singer, Taylor Swift.

“His worldwide popularity and familiarity with everybody, due to Taylor Swift, has really boosted his prices and interest,” said Goldin.

He added, “If we were doing this event a year ago, we would not [have] consider[ed] a Travis Kelce item as… one of the 100 best.”

According to Goldin, he is seeing a “100%” increase in interest for Kelce-related collectibles.

He also predicts that Kelce is “going to be a Hall of Famer” and will likely be recognized as one of the “greatest tight ends of all time.”

The auction house CEO also noted that there is more to his jersey than just its existence as being a “great item.”

“Maybe Taylor Swift will buy it and give it back to him as a present. We’ll see,” Goldin chuckled.

Jersey has high expectations

Interested buyers can see the Goldin 100 on goldin.com, and bidding will continue on every item listed on the site through June 1.

However, this is not the first time that a Travis Kelce jersey has sold for top dollar.

A jersey, worn by Kelce in the Chief’s 2019 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers in Mexico City, sold for an incredible $37,000 at Goldin Auctions in December 2023.

The jersey was worn during a game when Kelce scored a touchdown.

That sale marked an all-time record for a Travis Kelce game-worn item for the auction house, and now, time will tell just how much cash the newest TK jersey will bring in.
