Californians love going to the beach to soak up the sun and relax, but they didn’t see this coming.

Human traffickers have found a new way to get even more people into the U.S.

And something shocking just happened on a normally peaceful California beach.

Illegal aliens land on a beach in Carlsbad

A cell phone video taken by a beach goer in Carlsbad, California, revealed something truly shocking that happened recently.

In the video, over a dozen people are seen jumping out of a motorboat that approached the shore, causing local leaders to emphasize the need for stronger border security.

According to Customs and Border Protection, at least 15 to 20 people jumped out of the boat, and the video shows most of them running and getting into an SUV that was waiting for them on a nearby street before it sped off.

US Border Patrol agents and CBP Air and Marine agents responded, but they only found the abandoned vessel when they arrived.

CBP Air and Marine seized the boat, and law enforcement agencies are now investigating the incident, although no arrests have been made at the time of publishing.

The video and several other smuggling operations incidents have prompted Vista Mayor John Franklin and the mayors of San Marcos, Carlsbad, and the deputy mayor of Oceanside to ask state and federal governments to secure the border.

In a joint press conference, Franklin said, “We need border security for the safety of our residents, and we need it now.”

Oceanside Deputy Mayor Ryan Keim said, “The chaos at the border, the fact that many of these crossers know there will be no consequences here encourages this and it makes our cities less safe.”

“My real concern is human trafficking. What are they bringing in with them? drugs, weapons, and who’s on the terror watch list that’s coming in via boats?” added Carlsbad Mayor Keith Blackburn.

Some statistics show crime is down

Although the local officials voiced their concerns, SANDAG’s mid-year report shows that crimes against people like human trafficking and other similar crimes were down in 2023.

An NBC News review of 2024 crime data found that crime levels dropped in cities that have received the highest number of illegal aliens.

Even as high-profile crimes like the murder of college student Laken Riley make the headlines, some argue that crime is lower overall.

However, the North County mayors and the San Diego City Supervisor, Jim Desmond, want state leaders to revise Senate Bill 54, which limits local law enforcement and ICE’s actions when dealing with illegal aliens.

Desmond said, “So even if those people were caught, let’s say the people that got off the boats and they were caught, maybe the car that they all got into got pulled over. The local police, sheriffs and police departments could not hand them over to Customs and Border Patrol. That needs to stop. That needs to be fixed.”
