Marrying Prince Harry took Meghan Markle from being a D-list actress to a member of the royal family.
That catapulted her into being one of the best people in the world.
With her acting career likely over, she’s using her fame to launch a new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
This new business venture will use her name to push overpriced products on consumers.
Markle debuted her first product on social media, a limited-edition strawberry jam.
“It has already been reported a single jam jar could cost three figures,” Public Relations guru Mayah Riaz told The Mirror. “I believe that is entirely likely from what we have seen so far. This is not rare for a celebrity brand.”
But that could be just the beginning for American Riviera Orchard.
“Along with jams, honey, she may possibly even create sauces and pestos. Essentially items which are seen as luxury and would sit well in hampers,” Riaz added.
But her dreams of trying to fleece consumers with a hundred-dollar jar of jam could be ruined by scandal.
Meghan Markle’s bullying scandal could tank her business
Longtime Buckingham Palace royal aide Samantha Cohen worked with Prince Harry and Markle before they resigned as working royals.
She told the Australian newspaper Herald Sun that she was interviewed as part of an investigation into Markle for bullying royal staffers.
Cohen also revealed that Buckingham Palace couldn’t find a replacement for Harry and Markle’s aide.
“I was only supposed to stay for six months but stayed for 18. We couldn’t find a replacement for me, and when we did, we took them on tour to Africa with Harry and Meghan to show them the ropes, but they left (quit) as well while in Africa,” Cohen said.
Royal observers think there’s something to these allegations.
“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital. “There have been too many examples of the ‘Sussex Survivors Club’ for the allegations not to be true. … In contrast, not even one such report has ever been raised regarding Kate Middleton. Ask her family’s butcher from when she was a little girl growing up.
Now that one former aide came forward, the floodgates could open.
Author Tom Bower – who wrote Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors – believes this is just the beginning.
“I have no doubt that more will now emerge. The trickle of information will, soon enough, become a stream,” Bower wrote in an editorial for the Daily Mail.
The scandal surrounding Meghan Markle’s alleged bullying gaining steam would be a black eye as she tries to get her lifestyle brand off of the ground.
