Karine Jean-Pierre’s continual struggles as White House Press Secretary have already become a D.C. swamp legend.
And it turns out, even the mentally addled Joe Biden knows Jean-Pierre’s a major political liability.
But despite the fact the White House knows they need a new press secretary, Biden’s commitment to diversity may cost him the White House.
White House had a secret plan to fire Karine Jean-Pierre
Joe Biden’s handlers may be many things, and most of them are not good.
But stupid isn’t one of them.
They are political veterans and know Karine Jean-Pierre is horrible at her job and has become a huge liability for Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.
They know KJP is uniquely incapable of answering any questions she doesn’t already have a prepared answer for stored in her infamous white binder.
Biden’s handlers also know that if Joe Biden has any hope of winning re-election, every part of the vast political machine needs to be firing on all cylinders.
And an effective White House communications operation is at the top of the list of what must work right.
The New York Post’s Steven Nelson broke the news that the Biden high command had set up a plan to ease Jean-Pierre out of the press secretary job.
White House chief of staff Jeff Zients and Communications honcho Anita Dunn spearheaded the plan to force Jean-Pierre out.
“Jeff and Anita were trying to find Karine a graceful exit,” Nelson reported a White House source telling him.
A Biden White House source also told Nelson that Jean-Pierre “doesn’t have an understanding of the issues.”
But even though Zients and Dunn sit atop the Biden organizational flow chart, it turns out they didn’t have the power to get rid of Jean-Pierre.
Biden’s White House paralyzed by radical woke ideology
Jean-Pierre has the power to ignore her bosses because of woke identity politics.
And that means Zients and Dunn can’t fire Jean-Pierre without there being a woke uproar over axing the first black, female, and lesbian press secretary.
“There’s a huge diversity issue, and they’re afraid of what folks are going to say,” sources reportedly told Nelson.
NBC News reported that the radical pro-abortion group EMILY’s List made Jean-Pierre a job offer in December.
But Jean-Pierre rejected the offer, and now the Biden team is stuck with her through the November election.
“She has been pretty consistent in telling people from the minute she got the job that she was going to stay through the election,” Nelson wrote of a source describing Jean-Pierre’s plans. “I think Karine has decided to stay, come hell or high water and that’s that.”
White House stuck with Jean-Pierre
Now that Jean-Pierre has established herself as the most powerful, and most untouchable, person in the Biden White House communications hierarchy, officials are being forced to defend the indefensible.
“Not only are these claims wildly false, but the reality is the polar opposite. Karine was never approached by anyone with such a message. She spends four hours preparing every day. And neither Jeff nor Anita did any such thing; both have been unflinchingly supportive of her,” White House deputy communications director Andrew Bates said in a statement to the New York Post.
“Every press secretary uses the binder. Why is she being singled out?” Bates continued.
Just like with the Kamala Harris fiasco, Joe Biden and the Democrat Party keep learning one painful lesson.
