Three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce is one of the brightest stars in the NFL, as well as being the latest love interest of Taylor Swift.

But he is reaching the twilight of his career in football.

This new career move by Travis Kelce has fans wondering if he is hanging up his cleats.

Preparing for life after football

Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is fresh off his third Super Bowl victory.

And at 34 years old, he is broadening his horizons as the host of the rebooted game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? on Amazon Prime Video.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that contestants “will rely on a classroom full of celebrities from stage, screen, and sports to help them answer 11 questions on a range of subjects, pulled from (an) elementary curriculum, in an effort to win a $100,000 prize.”

The Amazon Prime show is based on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? which was hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, then WWE star John Cena.

Kelce has made headlines for his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift and with his New Heights podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, who recently retired from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelce is confident that the transition from football to television will be relatively easy.

Comfortable in front of the camera

Kelce told Extra about his new gig as a game show host and he said he began preparing at an early age for the limelight.

Kelce explained, “I think it was all the home videos my mom used to have with the old camcorder, the handheld joint, at the house. . .I just always felt comfortable with the camera on me and the lights on me. Sure enough, I love a good challenge. I get excited for a challenge.”

He has experience on television with a guest-hosting spot on Saturday Night Live.

Kelce was also the star of the reality dating show Catching Kelce, a show styled after The Bachelor.

Kelce said that he grew up loving game shows in the press release announcing Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?

“There’s something about them that I got a love for,” Kelce said.

Kelce also credited his brother Jason for his success in life.

Kelce told Extra, “It’s just been so, really, all throughout my life. It started as a young kid and really understanding the value of family and what it can do for you, and it injected confidence and excitement in my life and I’ve been so fortunate. . .I’ve been able to just follow his footsteps through life into the football world. And then, who knows what happens after that?”

At 34 years old, Kelce probably does not have very many elite years left, and his interest in television suggests that he’s not interested in playing the game until his body is totally battered.

Plus, he already has three Super Bowl rings.

Kelce said, “I’m every bit as motivated to get back and win another Super Bowl. . .That’ll always be my number one job until I retire.”

Whenever Kelce decides to retire, he’s well-positioned for life after football.
