But then Princess Kate raised eyebrows when she went incommunicado after undergoing abdominal surgery.
Many Royal watchers and media mavens speculated about her health, and she confirmed the rumors when she revealed she had been receiving treatment for cancer.
People were understandably worried about the cancer diagnosis.
But now the latest reports are that Princess Kate has “turned a corner” in her battle against cancer.
A big Princess Kate update
A source told Vanity Fair that Kate has “turned the corner” in her cancer treatment and that “it has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better.”
The family friend added, “It has, of course, been a very challenging and worrying time.”
When asked about when Kate will return to her Royal duties, the source said, “There is no timeline, and there is certainly no hurry. . .It will be when Catherine feels ready and when she gets the greenlight from her medical team. . .But she will 100% be coming back to work, of that there is no question.”
This comment was a big relief to Royal watchers worldwide after Kate’s first public comment about her health condition.
Princess Kate revealed in a video message, “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you personally for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I’ve been recovering from surgery. It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who’ve taken great care of me for which I am so grateful. In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful, however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
The Princess comes clean
The video message was a response to a mini-scandal that erupted after Kate’s team put out a photoshopped Christmas card.
She added, “This of course came as a huge shock and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I’m going to be okay.”
Princess Kate’s health update is welcomed news.
While Harry and Meghan have fallen from grace, Kate has maintained strong popularity among the British people.
