Rumors are swirling that Kevin Costner is in a romantic relationship with folk singer Jewel.
Costner was asked in an interview about it, and he is going public with an admission no one saw coming.

Legendary actor Kevin Costner and folk singer Jewel have been rumored to be in a romantic relationship.
The rumors started after they were pictured embracing in the British Virgin Islands last December.
Recently, Costner appeared on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM to promote his new movie, Horizon: An American Saga.
Stern bluntly asked the Yellowstone star if he was in love, saying he had heard rumors.
“I know, well that’s what they are,” Costner replied.
“Jewel and I are friends,” Costner said. “We’ve never gone out. She’s special. And I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have.”
Costner then said the media made the picture of Jewel sitting in his lap out to be something more than it was.
“No, Jewel and I are friends. We’ve never gone out ever,” Costner explained. “She’s special, and I don’t want, I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have. She’s special to me. She’s beautiful enough to go out with.”

Stern then wondered how rumors like this got this started.
“We were down at Branson’s Island. She has a foundation, which I didn’t know, and she was part of the foundation. And Richard Branson has been asking me for years to come down to Necker Island, and so I finally did,” Costner recalled.
Costner finalized a bitter public divorce from his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner in February after 18 years of marriage.
“I got on a plane with nine people. Jewel was one of them. Emma Watson was one of them. She was somebody I just had some tremendous conversations with along with Emma,” Costner said. “The rumor was, I went down on a private plane with her and I went back on a private plane with her.”
Costner says Jewel is great but it’s simply not happening between them.
“She’s beautiful and smart enough for all those things. It just has never happened for us,” Costner added. “She’s everything you might think, but it just hasn’t happened.”
“Because I’ve had conversations with her text-wise . . . and so we have a friendship. We don’t have a romance. We’ve not dated. It’s just never happened for us,” Costner continued.
He said the rumors have caused him to have to tell his kids that they aren’t dating.
For her part, Jewel neither confirmed nor denied that the pair were dating when she asked about it in April.
“He’s a great person,” Jewel said. “The public fascination is intense for sure.”
She told People Magazine in a May interview that she learned to keep relationships private after she dated actor Sean Penn in the 1990s.
And she simply said she was “happy” when asked if she was dating Costner.
Kevin Costner denies there’s a relationship, but many fans believe that could just be a way to keep things under wraps.
Only time will tell if there’s really something going on between Costner and Jewel.
