Ron DeSantis ran against Donald Trump for the Republican Presidential nomination, and you would think, as a former rival, he might have revenge on his mind,but you would be wrong.
When a liberal New York jury recently found Donald Trump guilty on trumped up charges, Democrats hoped it would disgrace the former president and cost him support.
But Ron DeSantis just showed that everyone is seeing through the fake trial, and he made one promise to Donald Trump that is making the Democrats crazy.
Democrats and the left-wing media could not contain their glee after Donald Trump was found guilty by a New York jury on 34 felony charges.
Radical Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg brought the sham charges against Trump for allegedly falsifying business records.
The claim was that by reporting a nondisclosure payment to Stormy Daniels as legal fees, it was some sort of “violation.”.
Of course, in reality, it was all just part of Joe Biden’s lawfare re-election strategy of arresting and imprisoning his political opponents.
Alvin Bragg is a hard-core Democrat partisan who even campaigned on a promise of going after Donald Trump.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reacted to the verdict with outrage and pointed out the sham nature of the trial.
“Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge, and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America—all in an effort to ‘get’ Donald Trump,” he wrote on X.
“That this case—involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago—was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City,” DeSantis continued. “This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction.”
DeSantis also correctly pointed out that if “the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought” forward.
But DeSantis did more than just point out the absurdity of the charges against Trump.
He also vowed to legally protect Donald Trump’s voting rights in Florida.
“Former President Donald Trump hasn’t lost his voting rights in Florida,” DeSantis wrote on X. “Rights are not removed in Florida where they haven’t yet been stripped in the convicting jurisdiction.”
And as the chairman of the Florida Clemency Board, DeSantis has the power to restore Trump’s voting rights despite him being found guilty of felony charges.
“That said, given the absurd nature of the New York prosecution of Trump, this would be an easy case to qualify for restoration of rights per the Florida Clemency Board, which I chair,” he continued. “The bottom line is that Donald Trump’s vote this November will be one of millions that demonstrate Florida is now a solid Republican state!”
DeSantis joined with Donald Trump’s supporters, who rallied behind him after the trial.
After the verdict, polls showed support for Donald Trump’s election actually increased.
The Trump campaign raised a massive, record-breaking $52.8 million within 24 hours of the verdict.
And the American people clearly see Joe Biden’s lawfare for what it is and are lining up squarely behind Donald Trump.
