The Biden administration has created a crisis at our southern border that seems impossible to solve.
Thousands of illegals pour over our border every day, some of whom are members of crime syndicates and terrorist cells.
But Joe Biden just made a statement about the crisis that will make your jaw drop.
Biden tells reporters that the border is not in “crisis”
Joe Biden has been ignoring the problems at the border for his entire Presidency.
Even when he visited the border for the one and only time in January 2023—the President opted for El Paso instead of Eagle Pass.
No one believes that he’s taking any of this seriously.
Over the weekend, Biden was speaking to reporters about the issue on the South Lawn.
When asked if he believed that the situation was finally worth being called a “crisis,” the President shocked them all by saying, “No”—then proceeded to blame Republicans for the problem.
“I’ve been pushing them, my Republican colleagues, since I got into office. I think we have to make major changes at the border. I’ve been pushing it. I’m prepared to make significant alterations at the border,” he said.
This comes following claims that he’s been trying to fix the crisis since his “first day in office.”
Biden slams Republicans for not considering bill giving “roadmap to citizenship”
“On my first day in office…I sent Congress a comprehensive piece of legislation that would completely overhaul what has been a broken immigration system for a long time,” he said at a press conference last week.
While he did send border legislation to Congress on day one, it included a major caveat.
Biden put in the January 2021 bill a “roadmap to citizenship for undocumented individuals.”
The goal was to give all illegal immigrants “legal status” so that they could continue to reside in our country and eventually apply for a green card.
“But congressional Republicans have refused to consider my comprehensive plan. And they rejected my recent request for an additional $3.5 billion to secure the border and funds for 2,000 new asylum personnel,” he said.
One major problem with the recent budget request is the continued focus on “asylum.”
The whole system has been abused, and Biden is enabling immigrants from all around the world to apply.
Asylum courts are so overwhelmed that the current schedule goes out to the 2030’s.
And Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has already called him out over the issue.
Border Patrol doesn’t need “more buckets,” they need to cut off the “flow”
In an interview with Jake Tapper, Johnson commented on the budget proposal, saying that the White House is simply trying to get “more money to process and allow more illegals into the country.”
“We need to do the opposite of that,” he added.
During the comments following his trip to the border this month, Johnson called for “transformational policy changes” that would stem the flow of illegal immigrants into our country—slamming Biden for asking for more money.
“It’s as if Border Patrol is at an open fire hydrant. They don’t need more buckets to dump the water—they need to turn off the flow,” he said.
