When Republicans took control of the House of Representatives, they vowed to hold Biden accountable.
But nearly two years have passed since the midterms, and nothing seems to be happening in D.C.
Now the House Judiciary Committee is firing a major warning shot at the Biden-Harris administration.
Laken Riley’s death was “untimely and preventable”
On February 22, a nursing student at the University of Georgia named Laken Riley went out for a jog.
Just a few hours later, her body was discovered in the woods.
By the next day, police had identified the alleged killer as Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old immigrant.
The university canceled classes as the students mourned.
The murder of Laken Riley by an illegal alien has awakened a sleeping giant

Then, as more information came out—the country erupted in anger.
While Joe Biden was busy trying to apologize for admitting that Ibarra was an illegal immigrant, Donald Trump was apologizing to Riley’s family for a tragedy that shouldn’t have happened.

The worst part was that Biden couldn’t even mention her name.
And #SayHerName began trending on social media.
Riley Gaines chose International Women’s Day to call on her followers to remember Riley.
“Her death was untimely and preventable. Say her name…” she wrote.

Now it looks like her family and friends might get some closure.
Riley’s alleged killer was released due to “urgent humanitarian reasons. . .”
The Democrats and the media were slow to recognize the legal status of Riley’s alleged killer.
But now a U.S. House Judiciary Committee report is forcing them to see the truth.
According to the 8-page report, U.S. border patrol had apprehended Ibarra and released him just one day before Riley’s death.
Ibarra had multiple encounters with law enforcement following his arrival in the U.S.
But no one did anything to uphold our law.
And according to the House Judiciary Committee, the Biden administration’s relaxed stance on immigration enforcement cost Riley her life.
The report says that Ibarra was released due to “urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”
The Committee says that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security claimed that it was due to “capacity” at detention centers.
But they later found that there was room, and they should have detained Ibarra.
Now they’re sending a major message to the Biden-Harris administration.
These are the “real-world consequences” of Biden and Harris’ failure
Ibarra had a history of breaking more laws than crossing our border.
The illegal immigrant was arrested in New York City last year after he was found to be “acting in a manner to injure a child.”
But the Biden administration let him continue to walk free.
The committee’s report says that Biden and Harris are responsible.
“The information obtained by the Committee shows in stark terms the real-world consequences of the Biden-Harris Administration’s failure to secure the border and enforce immigration law,” they wrote.
The report says that their “widespread failure to adequately vet, apprehend, detain, and remove illegal aliens” allowed for “criminal aliens” to enter and Riley’s life to be taken.
The Committee said that they would “continue to conduct vigorous oversight” while waiting for Congress to pass H.R. 2—the Secure Border Act of 2023.
The bill would place new restrictions on asylum seekers and force them to enter the country through a legal port of entry.
If the Senate passes H.R. 2, Biden will still need to sign it into law.
And it’s unlikely that he would ever consider that.
