Too many politicians try to hang on to power forever.

But some are willing to step back so they can push principles and not themselves.

Tulsi Gabbard walked away from politics to be free to discuss issues that were important to her but stunned everyone when she was willing to get back in for this reason.

Gabbard says she’s “open” to becoming Vice President candidate

Tulsi Gabbard is a former Senator and former Democrat from Hawaii who left her party and the political spotlight.

However, she recently appeared in an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters on his Jesse Watters Primetime show to talk about her future.

During the interview, Watters said, “Tulsi, you’re being considered for a VP slot. Is that something you’re open to?”

Gabbard replied, “I would be open to that. My mission is to serve our country. I want to be in a position to solve problems, Jesse, and we’ve got a lot of them to solve.”

The interview question comes as former President Donald Trump released a list of names on his shortlist of people he’d consider for Vice President.

Some of the names included Gabbard, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), Businessman and former Presidential Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Representative Byron Donalds, and Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.

Trump has not yet announced when he’d reveal his choice for running mate, but he did say, “All of those people are good. They’re all solid.”

Tulsi Gabbard will be at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort for an upcoming event, where she’ll headline a special fundraiser for the 917 Society where participants will be “celebrating the Constitution.”

At one time, Gabbard was a registered Democrat, but she has since left the party and is now a staunch defender of Trump’s foreign policies.

Now, she will deliver a keynote speech during the fundraising dinner, where tickets will cost between $1,250 to $25,000 each.

Colin Moore, a political science professor at the University of Hawaii, says that Gabbard is “a singular character in American politics.”

“It’s hard to find anyone who is comparable to Tulsi Gabbard, who has been at various times embraced by evangelical Christians to progressives to now it seems like Donald Trump himself. I’m not sure anyone can really explain it except for Tulsi Gabbard,” he continued.

Gabbard takes aim at the Democrat Party

Not only will Gabbard be the keynote speaker at Trump’s fundraiser event, but she’s also been speaking out against the Democrats on the national stage.

Gabbard attended the Conservative People’s Action Conference (CPAC) in February and spoke to the crowd, calling the Democratic party “evildoers” and “dictators.”

“Today, we see the Democrat elite leaders say, with great concern in their voice, that if the American people elect Donald Trump again, they warn us, he will destroy democracy. The perpetrators of this attack are those who, in the name of saving our democracy, are destroying it,” she said during the CPAC speech.

At one time, Gabbard was part of Democrat circles in her state of Hawaii and in Washington, D.C., and served as vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee between 2013 and 2016.

Today she has a much different take, calling the Democrat Party one of “growing wokeness, racism, and intolerance.”

When she left the party, she said it was “under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers who are driven by cowardly wokeness.”
