Democrats thought they had a chance to go on offense.
But the Democrats have a problem, their own words are coming back to haunt them.
And that’s why this tweet from Nancy Pelosi is painfully shutting the Democrats up.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries seized on Donald Trump opposing RINO House Majority Leader Tom Emmer’s candidacy, leading to the House GOP electing Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House.
Jeffries went back to the usual well and attacked Johnson as a so-called “election denier” because he voted against certifying the results of the 2020 election and was one of 126 House Republicans who signed on to an amicus brief for the state of Texas’ lawsuit to the Supreme Court arguing several battleground states illegally changed their voting laws to allow a flood of mail in ballots.
“The twice-impeached former president ordered House Republicans to stop Tom Emmer and elevate a top election denier,” Jeffries wrote on X, the app formerly known as Twitter.
“Is anyone surprised that they complied?” Jeffries added.
But if Jeffries is upset about “election deniers” being in leadership, then he doesn’t have to look very far.
Jeffries loudly denied Donald Trump’s win in the 2016 election, amplifying the Big Lie cooked up by Hillary Clinton and her campaign that Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the Presidency.
In a 2018 post on social media, Jeffries falsely claimed Trump’s election was “illegitimate” and that the Russian collusion witch hunt must continue to determine if America has a “fake” President.
“The more we learn about the 2016 election the more ILLEGITIMATE it becomes,” Jeffries declared. “America deserves to know whether we have a FAKE president in the Oval Office. #RussiaInterference.”
Democrats elevated Jeffries to the position of minority leader – meaning he will become Speaker of the House if Democrats win back the majority – despite Jeffries being an election denier.
And that is part of the course for Democrats.
In 2019 Democrats voted Nancy Pelosi as the Speaker of the House, despite the fact that Pelosi tried to overthrow American democracy by supporting the Deep State coup against Trump over the Russia collusion hoax.
Our election was hijacked. There is no question. Congress has a duty to #ProtectOurDemocracy & #FollowTheFacts.

Republicans dismissed questions by the press to Johnson about the 2020 election because these same members of the media routinely give Democrats like Jeffries and Pelosi a pass on trying to end American democracy by constantly pushing lies to overturn the results of the 2016 election.
