This left-wing political rag just went after Speaker Mike Johnson for the sickest reason yet

If you are a Republican, you can’t do anything the Left wing will ever approve.

This far-Left political publication just proved this point with this hatchet job.

Now Mike Johnson is under media assault, for one of the most incredible reasons ever.

Newly minted Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) is unapologetically conservative, outwardly Christian, and not content to be rolled by the Democrats in a way typical of other previous Republicans in that position.

As a result of all this, he’s angering plenty of people on the far Left.

That anger has many of them lashing out in counterproductive and even ridiculous ways.

After initially claiming that Johnson “doesn’t have a bank account” – as some strange form of a political gotcha attack, Senior Political Reporter Roger Sollenberger then backpedaled a bit.

He lives . . . paycheck to paycheck?!?!

Initially lamenting that Johnson had never reported a checking or savings account in his name, nor in the name of his wife or any of his children and doesn’t appear to have money stashed in any investments, Sollenberger later allowed for the probability that Johnson more likely “lives paycheck to paycheck—so much so that he doesn’t have enough money in his bank account to trigger the checking account disclosure rules for members of Congress.”

Imagine that!

One of the regular people has the audacity to live a regular, paycheck-to-paycheck existence.

The pile-on continued, with Jordan Libowitz, communications director for the Left-leaning group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, saying to The Daily Beast, “It’s strange to see Speaker Johnson disclose no assets. He made over $200,000 last year, and his wife took home salary from two employers as well, so why isn’t there a bank account or any form of savings listed? He owes hundreds of thousands of dollars between a mortgage, personal loan, and home equity line of credit, so where did that money go? If he truly has no bank account and no assets, it raises questions about his personal financial wellbeing.”

If the objective was to sow doubt among Johnson’s supporters, that gambit completely failed.

Conservatives to The Daily Beast: This isn’t the burn that you think it is

Rep. Matt Gaetz posted on the social media platform X, “The Daily Beast is furious that [Johnson] isn’t rich, corrupt or rich from being corrupt. He doesn’t have shady business deals. He doesn’t trade stocks as a congressman. Cry more, I guess?”

Other social media users agreed.

A user called Angela wrote, “That’s rare and refreshing. So, he should have an understanding of everyday Americans and understand our financial security and safety should be priority number one.”

Southern FFA Family wrote, “This is hilarious. We’re no longer going after the ones that have become multimillionaires while public servants, we’re now going after the ones that aren’t. God forbid someone in that Office has actual morals & ethics!”

The “hot take” on the part of far-Left journalists would be infuriating if it weren’t eye-roll inducing.

The very same people keen to dismiss the real questions concerning Joe Biden’s involvement in what by all accounts looks to be shady business dealing on the part of his son, are now upset that the new Republican Speaker of the House is apparently squeaky clean.

What it suggests is a genuine fear that Johnson has the potential to be successful in his political aims.

That alone is enough to make anyone displeased, with much of the present political leadership in our nation’s capital smile.
