Politicians rely on their staff for nearly everything.
Because some of these demands are complicated or politicians change their minds, these staffers often work long hours and have huge amounts of stress.
And these sick remarks made by this powerful Democrat to her staff were thankfully caught on tape.
Sheila Jackson Lee goes on a profanity-laced tirade
Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee got verbally brutal toward one of her staff members, and the entire thing was captured on recorded audio.
The lawmaker said that two of her staff members had no brains and they were “f—k-ups.”
The Democrat is a Hillary Clinton-endorsed Congresswoman who has long been known as one of the “meanest” Members of Congress.
Jackson Lee has represented the same district in Houston, Texas for over 28 years.
But in March, she threw her hat in the ring to become the mayor of Houston in an off-year election, and her 28-plus-year career in Congress would end if she were to win.
Audio recently obtained by the Texas newspaper Current Revolt, discovered that Jackson Lee isn’t very nice to her staff.
In the audio she is speaking to a male staff member, asking him for a piece of paper that he took “from that woman regarding something that was owned by Duncantell. Where is it? What date was it?”
The male staffer said he gave the piece of paper to someone named Jerome, who took it upstairs and told Jackson Lee that he needed to call Jerome.
But the lawmaker abruptly cut him off, saying, “I don’t want you to do a [expletive] thing. I want you to have a [expletive] brain. I want you to have read it. I want you to say, ‘Congresswoman, it was such and such a date. That’s what I want. That’s the kind of staff that I want to have.”
She continued to hurl profanity at the staffer, yelling about how she expects her staff members to handle all of her calendar events, particularly those from Ovide Duncantell, who is the founder of the Black Heritage Society, Inc.
The Congresswoman explained that she needed whoever took the information about the event to know exactly where and when it was taking place.
“When I called Jerome, he only sits up there like a fat [expletive], just talking about what the [expletive] he doesn’t know. Both of y’all are [expletive] ups . . . This is the worst [expletive] that I could’ve ever had put together. Two [expletive] big [expletive] children. [expletive] idiots. Serve no [expletive] purpose.”
She went on to tell the staffer that “nobody gives a [expletive] about what you’re doing. And you ain’t doing [expletive]. And this is an example of it. I gave it to Jerome. This is not child’s work, ok.”
A history of cruelty
The recently released audio recording is not the first time that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has been rude and unruly toward her staff members.
A Daily Caller report from 2011 uncovered that several of her former staff members said she used name-calling and demeaning language whenever she addressed them.
Jackson Lee was also accused of forcing her staff members to work long hours, often into the early hours of the morning and demanded they drive her everywhere she went, even if it was just a short distance.
The lawmaker was forced to resign as chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in 2019, after a former employee filed a lawsuit claiming she was fired as retaliation for planned legal action related to an alleged 2015 rape by a supervisor.
A report published by The New York Times said that CBCF board members told Jackson Lee to step down or face a removal vote after the lawsuit became public a week prior.
It looks like this is one Democrat who has absolutely no concern for the well-being of her staff members, and it’s unlikely to change any time soon.
