Celebrities who lean right or who support Donald Trump seem to be few and far between.
Leftists are bullies, especially on social media where they can troll in isolation from any real discussion.
But now, one of Taylor Swift’s fellow famous gal pals is showing support for Trump, and she isn’t backing down from the haters online.
Brittany Mahomes defends her political stance on social media
Ever since pop star Taylor Swift started dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, she’s formed close friendships with a few NFL wives, including the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Despite Swift’s left political leanings, it appears that her pal Brittany Mahomes leans to the right.
Mahomes has recently hinted that she supports Donald Trump online, resulting in the need for her to defend herself from the haters.
The 28-year-old appeared to like several comments on her most recent post on Instagram that showed support for Donald Trump.
One such comment that the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model liked was, “TRUMP-VANCE 2024.”
A fan of Brittney’s chimed in on the post, saying, “Glad to see you aren’t backing down. We are all entitled to our own opinions and shouldn’t be bullied into submission.”
Mahomes liked that comment, too, as did the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, Kelly Stafford.
However, when TMZ and the New York Daily News noticed Mahomes’ likes, she unliked them not long afterwards.
Brittany Mahomes first indicated her support for Donald Trump on August 13 when she liked one of his posts on Instagram outlining the “2024 GOP platform.”
That one simple like on Instagram started a massive wave of backlash against her, particularly from fans of Taylor Swift.
Several Swift fan pages posted screenshots of the like from Mahomes on social media along with snarky and sometimes cruel comments.
Finally, Mahomes responded to the barrage of criticism on her Instagram story, writing, “I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”
Mahomes keeps fighting
In a separate social media post, Brittany Mahomes continued to stand up for herself despite all the discontent.
On August 26, she wrote, “Contrary to the tone of the world today. . . you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind. Read that again!”
In April, Brittany’s husband Patrick Mahomes told Time he would not discuss who he planned to vote for in the 2024 election.
He said, “I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president. I want people to use their voices, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research.”
Meanwhile, conservative commentator Candace Owens has shown support for Brittany.
During a recent episode of her Candace podcast, she said, “Brittany Mahomes has an attitude. She doesn’t care [that social media is angry], and I’m here for it.”
