Biden-Harris admin pays off cronies with green boondoggles
Joe Biden spent ungodly amounts of money on a Green New Deal agenda.
Kamala Harris cast the deciding vote in the Senate on the $1 trillion Inflation Reduction Act in 2022 that ironically worsened inflation.
The comically misnamed bill was turned out to be a massive giveaway to “green” projects.
Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was handed $41 billion from the Inflation Reduction Act, nearly quadruple the department’s annual budget.
And $3 billion was included in the funding to be directed toward “environmental justice” grants.
In other words, oodles of cash were funneled to left-wing allies of Biden and Harris.
The House Energy and Commerce Committee released a report illustrating how taxpayer dollars were showered on groups like the Environmental Defense Fund and the Energy Foundation that support “green” energy.
The House GOP argued that this was “akin to a taxpayer-funded lobbying operation.”
The report stated, “The lists of organizations selected to receive funding or partner with those organizations include environmental activist organizations that work to influence public and elected officials to adopt their often-extreme views, such as completely eliminating the use of fossil fuels, which Americans recognize are an important part of an all-of-the-above energy mix.”
The report highlighted how leftist environmental groups were pushing the Biden-Harris administration’s anti-fossil fuel agenda.
Taxpayers funding left-wing pet projects
The Climate Justice Alliance received a $50 million environmental justice grant from Biden’s “woke” EPA.
Not only does the group want to ban fossil fuels, it was also an outspoken advocate for the Palestinians after the horrific October 7 terrorist attack.
The Delaware Valley Citizens Council for Clean Air, a group that aims to ban fracking and make walking the primary mode of transportation, also got a federal grant.
Some of the groups did not even have environmentalism as the main thrust of its mission.
For instance, the Southern Poverty Law Center, a smear machine used against conservatives, received an environmental justice grant due to its “working with Congress and the Biden administration to ensure a permanent ban on offshore drilling.”
Biden’s EPA is running a slush fund with environmental justice as a pretext for a federal patronage system.
The House Energy Commerce Committee statement added, “It couldn’t be more clear: The Biden-Harris administration rewards its environmental special interests at the expense of the American people. As part of its radical rush-to-green agenda, the administration gave hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to activists who also engage in political activities.”
“It was empowered to do so by congressional Democrats who jammed through legislation that was designed to rush money out the door as quickly as possible with no guards against waste, fraud, and abuse,” the committee statement added.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris made sure to scratch the back of their allies, and they did it with taxpayer dollars.
