It is amazing how popular and rich you can become by peddling left-wing conspiracy theories.

Rachel Maddow has proven it is possible to be demonstrably wrong and push crazy theories and still keep a show on MSNBC.

But now Rachel Maddow just removed any doubt that she is completely unhinged when she made up this story.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has a checkered past when it comes to her relationship with the truth.

Time and time again, she has lied or embellished facts to advance a far-left worldview.

A pattern of prevarication

In 2021 amid the coronavirus pandemic, Maddow disseminated a whopper about hospitals in Oklahoma supposedly being overrun with coronavirus patients overdosing on Ivermectin, a parasite-fighting medication that can also be sold over the counter as a veterinary drug.

The story, initially erroneously reported by a local Oklahoma TV station, was shown to be false when the hospital in question denied that any patients were treated for overdoses from the drug and the doctor alleged to have prescribed it hadn’t worked at the hospital for months.

Critics blasted Maddow for never retracting the tweet and allowing the false information to fester for days.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) wrote at the time, “Why haven’t you issued a retraction Rachel? It’s one thing to make a mistake, it’s quite another to purposefully keep a lie alive.”

But for Maddow, the inaccuracies are the entire point, and now she’s managed to take things to a whole new level.

She no doubt would hate to be told it, but she’s hysterical

In a guest appearance on ABC’s The View, Rachel Maddow completely short circuited on Wednesday over the possibility of Donald Trump being elected to a second term in 2024.

While saying something as simple as “Orange Man Bad” would have been met with the approval of the clapping seals in the left-wing audience, Maddow decided instead to kick things up a notch.

When Co-host Sara Haines made the claim that Trump “wants to cancel the news, so they’re done,” Maddow responded with an assertion that the former and perhaps future President “wants to put MSNBC on trial for treason so that he can execute us.”

The evidence for such a serious charge was decidedly lacking and one almost wonders just how good for TV the reaction would have been if she were told to calm down and to stop acting hysterically.

Maddow further contended, “I mean, the Republican Party right now has to make a decision, and it’s their decision to make. We have party processes for a reason, but ultimately if you listen to what Trump is saying; you don’t sort of regard him as a spectacle but listen to what he’s saying. He’s basically portraying a future for America, if he is put back in the White House, in which we don’t have another election after that.”

Again, that’s another allegation without evidence.

Trump did say last month that he would investigate Comcast, the parent company of MSNBC, for their “Country Threatening Treason.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “They are almost all dishonest and corrupt, but Comcast, with its one-side and vicious coverage by NBC News, and in particular MSNBC, often and correctly referred to as MSDNC (Democrat National Committee!), should be investigated for its ‘Country Threatening Treason.’”

Of course, hyperbole aside, investigating the company for treason isn’t the same as attempting to “cancel the news” as Maddow posits, and it certainly is a huge, “yuuuge” leap to go from there to claiming you are a would-be victim of an execution.

What really scares Maddow is that the public is getting wise to her routine, as polls show Trump tied with or pulling ahead of Joe Biden.

Because of that, Maddow and her ilk ought to be very afraid, but not for the reasons she claims.
