The Royal Family has been a topic of scandal and controversy for years.

But not all stories leak to the press immediately.

And Prince William and Kate Middleton finally came clean about one old secret.

The real story behind Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials

The 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was a world spectacle as people around the world tuned in for the first Royal wedding since Princess Diana and Prince Charles in 1981.

Nearly 2,000 guests attended the televised ceremony that drew millions of viewers.

Robert Jobson’s biography Catherine, the Princess of Wales documented what happened with the Royal wedding after the cameras stopped rolling.

Jobson said that Prince William and Kate performed a musical routine that had the crowd howling.

Jobson noted, “For the evening’s finale, Prince William and Kate had a special surprise up their sleeves.”

Suddenly, the music for the song “You’re the One I Want” from the 1978 musical Grease began playing.

Jobson recounted how William and Kate then adopted the roles of John Travolta’s Danny and Olivia Newton-John’s Sandy, and danced to the music while lip synching along.

The biographer wrote, “They stood holding hands in the middle of the dance floor grinning, then suddenly the opening bars of the song ‘You’re the One That I Want’ from the musical ‘Grease’ came booming out.”

Jobson added, “William and Catherine then began dancing around, pointing at each other, and mouthing the words with the style of the lead characters Danny and Sandy.”

“It brought the house down,” Jobson wrote.

An after-party to remember

The 1,900 guests got winnowed down to 650 for a reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.

Only 300 made the cut for Prince Charles’ reception where singer Ellie Goulding performed for Royal newlyweds.

Goulding admitted, “I was so nervous . . . My hands were shaking.”

The British singer played Elton John’s “Your Song” for the pair’s first dance.

Goulding also performed her hit single “Starry Eyed.”

And Goulding also sang The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” which is reportedly one of Willian and Kate’s favorite songs.

Prince William and Kate Middleton met in the fall of 2001 when they both were students at St. Andrews.

A decade later, they were married.

Twenty years later, the Royal Family found itself in turmoil thanks to the antics of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle making scurrilous accusations against the family.

Harry and Meghan essentially abandoned the family in order to be Hollywood celebrities, a plan that has not worked out too well.

Now, no one welcomes the Sussex Royals back in London, and Harry stays in hotels rather than spending the night in Buckingham Palace when he returns home.

Princess Kate is now battling cancer, and Harry and Meghan are not even welcome to offer public comments on the matter.

Things were so much simpler when they first tied the knot back in April 2011.
