The Republican Party has sent muddled messages on in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
Proponents of IVF have portrayed it as a pro-family procedure that simply helps parents who cannot conceive otherwise.
However, there is an incredibly dark aspect of IVF that does not get talked about.
IVF almost always involves creating more embryos than are used.
The others are either destroyed or frozen indefinitely.
Those fertilized embryos are genetically unique human lives.
For those that believe human life begins at conception, destroying fertilized embryos should be condemned.
And surrogacy adds another layer of immorality to the equation.
It’s a very expensive process, so those employing surrogates tend to be wealthy individuals who either cannot conceive naturally due to age or health, or simply do not want to go through child-bearing.
Surrogacy basically involves renting the womb of a fertile young woman to bear the genetic child of others.
The surrogate is often well compensated, making this a very tempting transaction.
Surrogacy also usually involves contracts that limit the activity and behavior of the surrogate throughout her pregnancy.
Some contracts even included clauses that call for the surrogate to abort the baby in certain situations.
The “my body, my choice” crowd never talks about this.
The European Court of Human Rights has even declared surrogacy a form of human trafficking.
Couple makes surrogate abort 20-week-old baby
Recently, The Daily Mail reported that a wealthy couple hired a surrogate and later demanded the baby be aborted.
Marty and Melinda Rangers spent $100,000 on surrogacy.
The surrogate mother was paid $65,000, the agency conducting the process charged them $35,000, and a law firm charged the couple $5,000 to write the contract.
The couple were in their 40s and claimed their “busy careers” caused them to delay having children.
They could have prioritized children over making money, but focusing on career over family has become customary for many in the workforce, particularly young women who were sold feminist lies.
The would-be parents, however, chose to have the baby aborted.
Melinda claimed to have found out that the surrogate was drinking alcohol during her pregnancy by looking through her social media.
The surrogate denied the allegation and claimed that she was only drinking water in the photo.
Nevertheless, the Rangerses claimed that was a violation of the contract and demanded the surrogate get an abortion at 20 weeks.
Sadly, the surrogate did.
Planned Parenthood and the abortion lobby often claim that late-term elective abortion is rare and only happens due to health risks, but this horrifying incident dispels that myth.
This is what happens when people are dehumanized and life is devalued.
