Mitt Romney tried and failed to destroy Donald Trump.
His retirement from the Senate cannot come soon enough.
But Romney made one revelation about Trump that stopped Jake Tapper cold.
Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) should have his face next to the word “RINO” in the dictionary.
He has sold out conservatives too many times to count.
Romney’s foray into politics occurred in 2002 when he was elected Governor of Massachusetts.
When he was Governor, Romney supported gun control, socialized medicine, and gay marriage.
Romney lost the 2008 Republican nomination to John McCain.
He returned four years later to win the GOP nomination in 2012, but fizzled out against Barack Obama.
For a time, Romney laid in the weeds, then launched the Never-Trump movement in 2016.
He poured gasoline on the fire of the Russiagate hoax.
In 2018, Romney won a Senate seat in Utah.
And after serving one term, he will thankfully retire.
Romney constantly proved to be a foil to Trump in the Senate.
He was the sole Republican Senator who voted to convict Trump during the bogus impeachment trial.
Romney also teamed up with disgraced former Congresswoman Liz Cheney to push the narrative that Trump was a danger to “our democracy.”
Now that he’s retiring, Romney appeared on CNN with known anti-Trump host Jake Tapper.
And Romney made one confession that stunned Tapper.
The host asked, “Do you still think there’s going to be a post-Trump Republican Party or is MAGA now the Republican Party?”
Romney answered, “Oh, MAGA is the Republican Party, and Donald Trump is the Republican Party.”
“Look, the Republican Party has become the party of the working-class, middle-class voter, and you’ve got to give Donald Trump credit for having done that, taken that away from the Democrats,” Romney continued.

Tapper tried to bait Romney into saying that Trump would be using his second term to settle old scores.
But Romney said that he believed Trump would “focus on the future.”
Romney even criticized the Democrats for “defund the police” and “transgenders” and “biological males in women’s sports.”
It’s easy for him to say that now, but Romney literally bent the knee to Black Lives Matter during the George Floyd riots.
Romney said, “These things had a lot of people in the middle class just flee the Democratic Party . . . They’re now Republicans.”
The outgoing Senator also offered his two cents on the 2028 race.
Romney suspected that Vice President-elect J.D. Vance would take the baton after Trump left office.
“If you were to ask me who the nominee will be in 2028, I think it will be JD Vance,” Romney explained. “He’s smart, well-spoken.”
Romney is staring retirement in the face.
And he chose not to pick a last fight with Trump on his way out the door.
