Celebrities are falling all over themselves to vote for Kamala Harris.
But they don’t represent all Americans, not even their own family members.
And Lady Gaga’s father made one statement about Donald Trump that left Democrats in shambles.
Trump’s no tax on tips plan resonates with one fan
Donald Trump announced the idea of not taxing the tips of workers in the hospitality industry during a June campaign rally in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He claimed that he got the idea after conversing with a waitress.
The no tax on tips proposal took off like a rocket ship.
Trump supporters began leaving the message on restaurant receipts, encouraging their servers to vote for him.
The idea was so popular, Vice President Kamala Harris shamelessly stole the idea from Trump and announced her version at a Las Vegas rally.
Both restaurant owners and workers love the idea.
Joe Germanotta, father of pop megastar Lady Gaga, appeared on the Fox News show Your World with Neil Cavuto, and he praised Trump’s no tax on tips proposal.
Cavuto said, “He’s the owner of Joanne Trattoria, an incredible menu, what they do with garlic, don’t get me started . . . Joe, great to have you. Your take, a lot of your workers, they rely on tipping, along comes Donald Trump and Kamala Harris saying we will take the tax off tips. How will that impact them, you, the restaurant?”
Joanne Trattoria is an Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Germanotta responded, “I think it is a great thing for them and good for the restaurant . . . 75% of their income comes from tips. Effectively, Donald Trump is giving them a raise. It gives them more disposable income.”
The difference between Trump and Harris on taxing tips
Germanotta explained that not taxing tips would be a way to put more money in workers’ pockets without passing on costs to customers.
He said, “If wages get increased all right, the hourly wage, that shows up in menu prices but this pays the employee for what they do as well . . . It will allow them to not work as many jobs. Most of my employees have two positions, server, and bus boy positions. I think it’s a great thing all around. I think the president was brilliant in throwing this on the table.”
“I think it is a win/win for everyone,” he added.
Harris’ plan to have no tax on tips has one major deviation from Trump’s proposal.
She tied not taxing tips to a minimum wage hike.
Harris said, “It is my promise to everyone here: When I am President, we will continue our fight for working families of America, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.”
She’s attempting to use the popular no tax on tips proposal to pass a left-wing agenda through Congress.
It’s a Trojan Horse for her real priority of increasing the minimum wage, a long-standing Democrat priority.
But virtually all economists agree that artificially boosting the minimum wage leads to increased unemployment.
Donald Trump is working to deliver genuine tax relief for everyday Americans without pouring fuel on the inflation inferno already raging in America.
