Labatt Beer is making a major play for summer dominance.
The brewing giant just announced a partnership that nostalgic bar-goers won’t be able to resist.
And Labatt Beer just made one announcement that will have summer drinkers racing to the bar.
Labatt teams up with a beloved bar room staple
The summer beer wars are heating up, and Labatt just fired the opening salvo.
In a move that combines two beloved bar staples, Labatt Beer announced a brand-new partnership with the iconic arcade game Golden Tee Golf.
The partnership was revealed Tuesday as part of Labatt’s summer marketing push.
“This partnership is about celebrating the rituals that happen after the round,” said Jason Folaron, brand manager for Labatt USA. “Whether its trash talk over an arcade game or toasting a long day on the course, Labatt wants to own that moment with fans.”
The timing couldn’t be better for both brands.
Golden Tee has been a fixture in bars for decades, with more than 200,000 units sold since its release in 1989 and over 1,000,000 unique yearly players still flocking to the game.
Meanwhile, Labatt has been working to strengthen its position as the premier beer choice across the Great Lakes region.
Fan-favorite flavor makes a triumphant return
The Golden Tee partnership wasn’t the only big news Labatt dropped.
Beer enthusiasts who developed a taste for Labatt Blue Light Raspberry Lemon last year can celebrate. The fruit-flavored light pilsner is making its return just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
“People loved this beer last year, and we’re thrilled to bring it back with even more energy thanks to the Golden Tee partnership,” Folaron said. “It’s light, flavorful, and made for moments when the game’s over, but the fun’s just getting started.”
The Raspberry Lemon variant is a premium light pilsner brewed with natural raspberry and lemon flavors. It’s designed for easy drinking and maximum refreshment – perfect for those hot summer days when you’ve just finished 18 holes or are watching your buddy struggle through a round of virtual golf.
Labatt Blue Light Raspberry Lemon will be available in 12 and 30-packs of 12-ounce cans across New York, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.
Marketing blitz aims to dominate summer sales
Labatt isn’t stopping with just an announcement. The company is rolling out a comprehensive marketing campaign to ensure the partnership is visible throughout the summer.
Select bars across the Great Lakes region will feature co-branded Golden Tee and Labatt promotions. Customers can look forward to Labatt-branded Golden Tee Go giveaways and sampling pop-ups designed to attract both beer enthusiasts and gamers.
The Buffalo, New York-based company has been brewing since 1847, originally in Canada but now produced in Rochester, NY. This long history has helped Labatt become one of the most recognized beer brands in the northern United States.
The partnership with Golden Tee also represents a strategic alignment with Incredible Technologies, the woman-owned company behind the iconic golf game. Founded in 1985, Incredible Technologies has created some of the industry’s most popular titles and continues to develop gaming content for both arcade and casino markets.
Labatt’s summer strategy shows the company is looking to capitalize on the post-pandemic return to bars and social gatherings. By connecting with the nostalgia of Golden Tee while offering a returning seasonal favorite, Labatt is positioning itself as the go-to beer for summer socializing.
The beer industry has faced challenges in recent years with changing consumer tastes and the rise of craft breweries. Labatt’s focus on seasonal offerings and strategic partnerships may help it maintain its strong position in a competitive market.
Beer drinkers across the Great Lakes region will soon have the chance to grab a cold Labatt Blue Light Raspberry Lemon, take a swing at Golden Tee, and decide for themselves if this summer partnership is worth celebrating.
