As soon as the Black Lives Matter movement took hold in the United States, leftist activists rushed to tear down monuments nationwide.
Like the Taliban in Afghanistan, these neo-Marxist rioters removed or toppled statues of historical figures to erase shared cultural history they don’t like.
Now Kamala’s beloved liberal state of California is on the warpath as they plan to try and erase history once and for all.
San Francisco to “evaluate” 100 monuments
While most of the state of California is deeply liberal, no part of the state is quite as woke as San Francisco.
Now, Kamala Harris’ beloved political home base is planning to evaluate approximately 100 monuments, sculptures, and statues.
The “evaluation” will ultimately determine whether those monuments should be removed or replaced.
A report from the San Francisco Chronicle reads, “San Francisco is about to embark on evaluating its nearly 100 statues and monuments to figure out which ones no longer represent the city’s values and should be removed from view, relocated, or re-interpreted with explanatory plaques.”
According to the report, the debate over monuments in the city first started in 2018, when the “Early Days” sculpture from the Pioneer Monument in the Civic Center was removed.
That sculpture was removed because it represented a Native American seated before a Spanish Catholic missionary.
Thanks to the BLM movement that solidified after the murder of George Floyd in 2020, efforts to remove similar sculptures and monuments gained traction.
During that year, rabble-rousers toppled several statues all over the nation after claiming they “glorified” Confederate Civil War leaders.
All of the destruction during that time was done in the name of “racial justice” as rioters toppled a plethora of statues throughout the United States.
One incident involved rioters taking down a statue of Ulysses S. Grant in San Francisco.
Ironically, Grant led Union armies during the Civil War, resulting in the freeing of black slaves at that time.
The report from the Chronicle noted that statues of other figures were also toppled that year including Francis Scott Key and St. Junipero Serra.
The city receives millions for evaluation
Aside from the fact that tearing down statues simply because of a disagreement is heinous in itself, the city is performing the evaluation with help from a $3 million grant.
The grant was funded by the Mellon Foundation and will pay for the evaluation to be performed by an outside firm.
The project, entitled “Shaping Legacy,” was discussed during an Arts Commission meeting.
Senior project manager Angela Carrier said that the evaluation of San Francisco’s monuments shows “a concentration that talks about power, privilege, white supremacy, patriarchy, and colonialism.”
You can see where this is going.
The entire evaluation project is slated to be complete by January 2025, and there’s a good chance San Francisco will see the bulk of its monuments disappear into the ether forever, never to be seen again.
