Kamala Harris got trounced in her race against Donald Trump.
But that does not mean she’s going away.
And Kamala Harris dropped a big hint about her political future.
Harris 2028?
Kamala Harris received a stern rejection from the American people on November 5.
However, she refuses to go away.
Harris is informing people that she is planning a political comeback.
POLITICO reported that Harris convened a meeting with her inner circle about either running for Governor of California in 2026 or launching a 2028 Presidential bid.
“But privately, the vice president has been instructing advisers and allies to keep her options open — whether for a possible 2028 presidential run, or even to run for governor in her home state of California in two years. As Harris has repeated in phone calls, ‘I am staying in the fight,’” the outlet exclusively reported.
When Al Gore, John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton lost their respective Presidential elections, their handlers attempted to keep them part of the national conversation for future Presidential bids.
But none of them ever mounted another run.
Harris’ team believes that she can take her time because of name recognition and fundraising infrastructure.
A Harris insider told POLITICO, “She doesn’t have to decide if she wants to run for something again in the next six months.”
The first move in Harris’ road to redemption would be setting up a PAC and/or a 501c tax-exempt group that would permit her to raise money, pay for travel, and speak out on issues.
A Harris handler told POLITICO, “The natural thing to do would be to set up some type of entity that would give her the opportunity to travel and give speeches and preserve her political relationships.”
A source close to Harris aldo to the outlet, “There will be a desire to hear her voice, and there won’t be a vacuum for long.”
On the same day POLITICO’s story dropped, Harris and running mate Tim Walz announced a national grassroots supporter call to announce their next steps.
One clue as to how Harris might plan to proceed will be which state where she and husband Doug Emhoff choose to take up residence.
POLITICO reported, “They have to decide whether they’ll take up permanent residence at their home in Los Angeles, or establish a base elsewhere.”
If Harris and Emhoff don’t move back to California, it would indicate that she is not looking to become the Governor.
Despite her 2024 drubbing, Harris still leads the 2028 field of prospective Democrats.

However, those numbers are a function of built-in name recognition.
Democrats and their media allies knew that Harris was a deeply flawed candidate.
The Democrat machine was the only reason she was even remotely competitive.
Harris does not have an organic constituency.
When given a choice, Democrats will throw their support behind someone else.
