On Sunday, self-righteous celebrities flocked to the annual Grammy Awards, where the music industry swooned all over themselves with awards.

Per usual, artists used their time on the center stage to commend themselves and the industry that made them so much money.

But when Jay-Z took the stage, he made some bizarre comments that actually exposed the disgusting truth about celebrity worship culture.

Jay-Z’s Grammy stunt demonstrated just how greedy and selfish many celebrities and Hollywood are

Just last Sunday, Americans were punished with the first Sunday since September without football.

As a result, some tuned into the Grammy Awards instead, which, for the most part, followed its typical trends.

Taylor Swift won Album of the Year, and once again, people think that Beyoncé should have won instead.

Namely, rapper Jay-Z sounded off on stage after his wife Beyonce did not receive the award.

After receiving the Dr. Dre Impact Award, named after notorious woman beater and cop-hater Dr. Dre, Jay-Z used his speech time to criticize the Grammys for not awarding his wife.

Per Jay-Z, “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year.”

He added, “So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys; never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work.”

If this outburst rings a bell, it’s because many have likened it to Kanye West’s infamous outburst at the 2009 Video Music Awards.

Taylor Swift was set to receive an award when Kanye West jumped onstage and claimed that Beyoncé deserved it instead.

Furthermore, the argument that the Grammys are some sort of racist institution does not hold up.

Every year the Grammys award black artists for music that most Americans do not care for or have never heard of, not to mention the numerous social justice initiatives the Grammys and other awards shows pull off.

What Jay-Z’s outburst reveals about modern popular culture and the nauseating cult of celebrities

The sad truth is that awards shows like the Grammys are vitally important for many celebrities, who put a high price on materialism and fame.

Celebrities like Jay-Z and Taylor Swift are lifted on monumental pedestals, so much so that these “artists” become hyper-fixated on winning awards like the Grammys, and when they don’t, all hell breaks loose.

The bottom line is that most Americans do not give a damn about Jay-Z or the Grammys.

Year after year, awards shows like Grammys see their ratings plummet to uncharted depths, which indicates that Americans are growing tired of what these award shows are putting out.

Not only are many of these award shows flat-out boring, but many of them also force the agenda of the radical Left.

Regardless of who wins what award, it seems as if Americans are growing tired of the Grammys, and award shows in general for that matter.
