J.D. Vance is facing an outrageous amount of heat from the Left.

They have targeted him for destruction.

But Vance revealed one truth to Trey Gowdy that will have the Democrats gnashing their teeth.

Vance sets the record straight with Trey Gowdy

Democrats and their media allies spent a week unloading on Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) for his 2021 tongue-in-cheek comments about the “childless cat ladies” running the Democrat Party.

Fox News host Trey Gowdy asked Vance about those comments and noted that Dr. Condoleezza Rice and George Washington never had any children.

Gowdy argued, “Dr. Condi Rice does not have children, neither does my friend, your colleague, Tim Scott. George Washington did not have biological children and neither did James Madison. So I think you will agree with me that direct offspring are not necessary to be fully invested in the future of this country.”

Vance used the opportunity to hit back at the chorus of critics who misconstrued his words.

Vance explained that the point of his comment was to call out the Democrats for being overtly anti-family.

“If you look at what the Left has done, they have radically taken this out of context and, in fact, aggressively lied about what I’ve said. What I do think is true, Trey, and this goes to the heart of what I was talking about three years ago in those comments, but it’s going to be something I continue to talk about, is that the Left has increasingly become explicitly anti-child and anti-family,” Vance declared.

Vance said the Left created a sense of anxiety and fear about having children in a world where climate change is supposed to be an existential threat.

“They’ve encouraged young families not to have children at all because of concerns over climate change. They’ve suggested that people who do have children are somehow being selfish when I think being a parent is actually the most selfless thing that you can do, and again, really does transform your perspective,” Vance continued.

Kamala Harris’ attacks on the family

In fall 2023, Vice President Kamala Harris went on a college tour where she warned that parents were too afraid to have children because of what she attributed to “climate anxiety.”

“We’re not going to stop fighting for that. Because young people said, we’re not leaving it to other people to decide how we’re dealing with the climate crisis. You know, I’ve heard young leaders talk with me about a term they’ve coined, ‘climate anxiety,’” Harris said.

“Which is fear of the future and the unknown of whether it makes sense for you to even think about having children, whether it makes sense for you to think about aspiring to buy a home because what will this climate be?” Harris continued.

Vance referred to these comments when he told Gowdy that he plans to call out the Democrats for making it difficult for people to start families.

Vance asked, “There’s one more thing I’m going to say on this, Trey. I think a lot of parents and a lot of non-parents look at our public policy over the last four years and ask, how did we get to this place?”

He explained that Democrats shut down schools and instituted mask mandates that led to permanent learning loss and developmental challenges.

Now Harris and the Democrats want to make it even more expensive to start a family.

Vance concluded, “How did we get to a place where Kamala Harris is calling for an end to the child tax credit? How do we get to a place where we were masking toddlers years into the pandemic? I think it’s because we radically underrepresent the perspective of parents in our public discourse.”
