Donald Trump has to be the most fearless politician in contemporary American politics.
He has endured everything, including an assassination attempt.
And Trump defied the Secret Service when he made one bold declaration.
Trump not backing down after assassination attempt
Donald Trump has made political rallies a central part of his campaigns going all the way back to 2015.
Trump has used outdoor rallies at fairgrounds, airports, and other outdoor venues in areas where an arena is unavailable or not able to accommodate the anticipated crowd.
But everything changed after he was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The Secret Service was responsible for multiple points of colossal failure that allowed a gunman to climb onto a rooftop and come within inches of murdering a former President and Presidential candidate.
Since then, Trump has exclusively held indoor rallies as a precaution.
The Secret Service warned him against holding outdoor rallies after the Butler catastrophe due to security concerns.
However, indoor rallies prevent Trump from holding events in rural areas where he has the strongest base of support.
But Trump vowed to return to holding outdoor rallies against the urges of the Secret Service.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I will continue to do outdoor rallies, and Secret Service has agreed to substantially step up their operation . . . They are very capable of doing so.”
The Secret Service simply needs to do its job and protect Trump and the people in the crowd.
Blocking him from holding outdoor rallies is tantamount to election interference from the Biden administration.
Donald Trump going back to Butler
Former Homeland Security official Michael Balboni ripped the Secret Service to shreds for telling Trump to forego outdoor rallies.
Balboni told Fox News Digital, “The Secret Service now advising Donald Trump that he shouldn’t hold outside rallies is ridiculous . . . That is an admission the Secret Service suddenly can’t handle outdoor venues. What have they been doing for the last 20 years? Doing that. So why now? That was such an admission, that the service, with all of its resources and assets, can’t protect in an open environment.”
Balboni said that restricting a candidate to indoor rallies has never happened before.
“Barack Obama had 80,000 people at his rallies – could you tell him that?” Balboni explained. “When Barack Obama became President there was a huge concern internally as to the assassination threats against him as the first black President. So they stepped it up. What happened to that here?”
Trump also announced on Truth Social he plans hold another rally in Butler and honor retired fireman Corey Comparatore, who was tragically killed by the gunman.
“I WILL BE GOING BACK TO BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR A BIG AND BEAUTIFUL RALLY, HONORING THE SOUL OF OUR BELOVED FIREFIGHTING HERO, COREY, AND THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS INJURED TWO WEEKS AGO,” Trump said. “WHAT A DAY IT WILL BE — FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS.”
Comperatore was fatally shot while protecting his family at the event.
Donald Trump is not going to let fear or the Biden administration or anything else derail his 2024 Presidential campaign.
