Disney is tarnishing its brand.

The company is no longer promoting family values.

And Disney had no choice but to pull the plug on one “woke” project after fans trashed it.

Disney cancels one “woke” disaster

The Star Wars franchise has been turned into a dumpster fire by Kathleen Kennedy.

Disney took arguably the most lucrative intellectual property in film and television, and turned it into a laughingstock.

The latest Star Wars turkey was The Acolyte, which mercifully only lasted one season as plans for a sequel season were torpedoed.

Deadline Hollywood reported that the “story of The Acolyte will not continue, with Lucas Film opting not to proceed with a second season of the Star Wars offshoot starring Amandla Stenberg the news is not entirely surprising. The Acolyte did OK with critics, with 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, but divided Star Wars fans, which was reflected in its overall viewership.”

That is putting it lightly.

The show was ripped to shreds by the fans.

The Left have tried to blame Disney’s “woke” flops on “toxic” fandom, but the only shows and movies that have been torn apart are the bad ones.

Viewers abandoned ship in droves

Deadline also reported that “[d]riven by interest into the venerable space franchise, The Acolyte got off to a strong start when it launched June 4 with two episodes, generating 4.8M views in its first day on the streamer to rank as the biggest series premiere on Disney+ this year. The tally rose to 11.1 million views globally after five days of streaming. Corroborating Disney’s data, the series made its debut on Nielsen’s Top 10 originals chart in its premiere week at No. 7 (488 million minutes viewed), climbing to No. 6 the following week.”

As soon as viewers discovered that the show was awful, the ratings tanked.

Deadline added that “The Acolyte could not sustain the momentum, dropping out of the Top 10 in Week 3 and staying off before returning at No. 10 after the release of the finale (335M minutes, believed to be the lowest for a Star Wars series finale).”

The show was likely doomed the moment lead actress Amandla Stenberg and creator-showrunner Leslye Headland joked about the series’ “wokeness” in an interview.

The interviewer excitedly said that The Acolyte was the “gayest Star Wars” ever.

Stenberg responded, “I think that Star Wars is so gay already. . .I mean have you seen the fits? We’d be like, ‘Look how gay this is’ and send each other reference photos.”

Headland joked, “Are you telling me, with a straight face, that C-3PO is straight?”

The interviewer responded, “They’re a couple. That’s what I think,” which caused Headland to jokingly proclaim that it was Star Wars “canon” that R2-D2 is a “lesbian.”

Disney keeps doubling down on “wokeness.”

The company has not learned its lesson after multiple fan revolts.

CEO Bob Iger paid lip service to focusing on story instead of politics.

But the people who work for him did not get the memo.
