Kamala Harris has been riding high since Democrat Party bosses knifed Joe Biden in the back.
But Democrat ecstasy could be coming to an end.
And CNN just threw cold water on Harris’ “joy” campaign.
CNN laments the fact that Trump is more popular than ever
Kamala Harris crawled ahead to a small 0.9% lead over Donald Trump in the Real Clear Politics polling average.
Betting markets show Harris is favored to win in most of the swing states.
However, CNN data analyst Harry Enten analyzed the numbers and warned Democrats that they could be spiking the ball on the one-yard line.
Enten told CNN viewers that one detail going under the radar for the 2024 campaign is that Trump is more popular than he has ever been before since entering politics.
“If you’ve been following the campaigns of Donald Trump through the years, you know that he’s won or came close to winning despite the fact that he was not a popular individual . . . Look at this, he was at 33% in 2016, a campaign he went on to win. In 2020, it was at 41% and now he’s at 44%,” Enten declared.
Enten explained Trump’s rising popularity engendered two different sets of questions.
With regard to the Trump campaign, Enten said, “For the Trump campaign, the question is, ‘wait a minute, our guy is more popular basically than he’s ever been. And yet he seems to be falling behind in the polls. How do we change that? Is it possible to change that?’”
But the polls could be undergoing a shift.
The three most recent national polls showed Harris’ sugar high bump coming down.
Pew Research found Harris was slightly leading Trump 47-46.
Fox News showed Trump holding a 50 to 49 edge.
And a JL Partners poll for the Daily Mail had Trump up 43-41 over Harris.
Kamala Harris in a tight spot
Enten said that any talk of Harris running away with the election was premature.
“The question for the Harris campaign is, ‘wait a minute, maybe we shouldn’t take things for granted because Trump has won when he has been so unpopular in the past, and now he’s more popular than he’s basically ever been. Maybe this guy really is going to be tough to put away,’” Enten continued.
Enten also said that Harris’ lead in the polls may be due to Democrat euphoria.
When Americans see the real Kamala Harris in action and her approval numbers fall, she might not be able to maintain her lead over Trump.
Enten asked, “And I think that is going to be the very interesting question going down the sort of finale of this campaign . . . Is Harris not beating Trump enough? Or is she going to have to maintain her high favorable ratings that she’s been seeing?”

Why Trump’s popularity has increased
Trump is benefiting from the reality that things were better on his watch when compared to the Biden-Harris administration.
Under Trump, inflation was under 2% and gas was as low as $1.87 per gallon.
The southern border was secure, and there were no new wars.
Thanks to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, “prices are up over 21%, the border is a sieve, and World War III could break out in Europe or the Middle East any second now.”
