Dr. Ben Carson was one of many candidates who ran against Donald Trump during the 2016 Republican Primary.
The political outsider with strong pro-life and conservative convictions would ultimately end up in charge of Housing and Urban Development during the Trump administration.
But Dr. Carson was strangely silent on who he felt was the best candidate in the GOP field, until he made this stunning announcement.
Pence drops out as Trump holds onto his enormous lead in the Republican primary
The Republican primary for the 2024 Presidential election is still underway, despite the tremendous lead by former President Donald Trump.
Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Chris Christie still think they have a fighting chance against Trump.
DeSantis is still the closest contender with nearly 14 percent of support from likely Republican voters while Haley and Ramaswamy are sitting at 7.9 and 6.1 percent respectively.
Trump has a commanding lead of nearly 60 percent support from the base, and it’s only getting stronger over time.
Former Vice President Mike Pence saw the writing on the wall, and finally decided that right now is “not the time” for him to lead our nation.

Pence joined four other candidates that have dropped out in recent months—Suarez, Johnson, Hurd, and Elder.
Now just one week ahead of the final debate, Dr. Ben Carson has made an announcement.
Dr. Ben Carson says that there is only one way to preserve our Constitutional Republic
Speaking from a podium in Iowa over the weekend, Carson took the time to reflect on our nation’s founding.
“Benjamin Franklin was asked in 1787 after they finished the Constitutional Convention, ‘Sir, what do we have here? A monarchy or a republic?” Carson said to the crowd.
Franklin replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.” Carson explained.
“The way we can keep it is we can put Donald J. Trump back in office,” Carson announced.

“One man had the courage to take on the political establishment and give the people a voice in Washington, with no concern about what it would cost him,” the neurosurgeon explained.
Carson went on, “Donald Trump lost millions if not billions of dollars. And he’s been attacked constantly and demonized, and yet, he’s still there.”
According to Carson it isn’t for a lack of trying, in fact he says, “they’re trying to do everything in their power to get rid of him.”
“Donald Trump is the biggest threat to the administrative state and to the swamp—I don’t call it a swamp; I call it a cesspool,” Carson said.
Trump thanks Carson and says it is an “honor” to have received his endorsement
Carson ran against Trump in the 2016 presidential primaries and eventually dropped out.
The political outsider went on to become Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in Trump’s cabinet.
Carson has been a strong voice in the Pro-Life movement ever since he entered political life.
