Another company’s plan to go woke failed miserably and shocked consumers

Bud Light, Disney, Star Wars, and the Marvel Comic Universe debacles might serve as an example that going woke is bad for the bottom line.

Yet popular brands keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Incredibly, this popular brand followed in Bud Light’s footsteps and put itself in danger of going out of business.

Doritos fires trans brand ambassador

Less than a week ago, Doritos Spain announced that the company had chosen transgender influencer Samantha Hudson to be its brand ambassador.

The company, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, planned to include Hudson in a 50-second promo video called “Crunch Talks.”

Hudson became widely known thanks to her YouTube channel, which talks about lifestyle tips, travel, and beauty topics.

However, several X users alerted Doritos to some disturbing posts that Hudson made in the past, including one from 2015, where she discussed a desire to do terrible things to a 12-year-old.

The transgender artist from Spain has developed quite a large social media following, but after the tweets were revealed, people called on Doritos to boycott the influencer. 

The tweet from 2015 is translated from Spanish to English with Hudson writing, “I want to do thuggish things [to] a 12-year-old girl,” along with a graphic example of a disturbing sexual crime against a child.

Based on Hudson’s current age of 24, she was 15 when the tweet was posted, and according to her, she thought it was funny at the time, according to Venezuela News.

Many X users are accusing Hudson of being a pedophile after the tweets resurfaced.

In another disturbing post, Hudson wrote, “In the middle of the street in Mallorca in panties and screaming that I’m a nymphomaniac in front of a super beautiful 8-year-old girl.”

Hudson also appeared to make fun of women who have survived sexual abuse in yet another tweet, where she wrote., “I hate women who are victims of rape and who turn to self-help centers to overcome their trauma.”

Once the controversy came to light, Doritos told the Daily Mail that it fired Hudson as a brand ambassador and told Rolling Stone it would no longer work with Hudson.

The company said it was unaware of the inappropriate posts before hiring her and that the “Crunch Talks” spot has now been deleted from the company’s Instagram page.

Brand faces massive backlash

Unfortunately for Doritos, the decision to fire Hudson may be too little, too late.

One X user called End Wokeness slammed the brand, writing, “Doritos just picked Samantha Hudson as their brand ambassador in Spain. Samantha Hudson: -Admitted to being a pedophile -Identifies as a non-binary trans girl -Openly mocked victims of child rape -An advocate for ‘annihilating, completely destroying, and abolishing the traditional family.”

X user Ian Miles Cheong wrote, “Doritos is doubling down on wokeness by hiring Samantha Hudson, a transgender ‘woman’ and self-admitted p-do as its brand ambassador in Spain, resulting in calls for the boycott of the company’s products.”

One X user named Alberto Caliu asked Doritos if they supported Hudson.

He wrote the post in Spanish, which translates to, “This Samantha Hudson is the new image of Doritos. Hello @Doritos, is this type of person your image? Do you support this?” along with an image of one of the resurfaced tweets from Hudson.
