Donald Trump was inches away from certain death at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Far too many questions have yet to be answered about that fateful day.

And an Army sniper had Fox News viewers in stunned silence with one update on Donald Trump’s assassination attempt.

Controversy regarding Donald Trump assassination attempt

Police body cam audio raised more questions about the near-assassination of Donald Trump by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

A Butler Township Police Officer can be heard on the audio saying that he warned the Secret Service that someone needed to cover the building from where Crooks took a shot at Trump.

The officer added that the Secret Service told him that agents were going to be posted at the building.

But no agents were posted on top of the American Glass Research building that Crooks used to open fire on Trump and the rally-goers.

Worse yet, the Secret Service never coordinated with local law enforcement prior to the Trump rally.

Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) served as a sniper in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, and he has suspected that something was wrong about the shooting from the beginning.

Mills appeared on Fox & Friends First where he explained that it’s difficult to tell if the actions that led to Trump’s shooting were intentional or negligent.

Mills said, “I can tell you that this is why it is important for the Secret Service to show up to their morning meeting on the day of the rally in which the local law enforcement said that they did not even show up . . . There is no communication plan with a single emergency channel that everyone could be on.”

Mills said that the counter-snipers were communicating via text message instead of a police radio band.

Independent investigation has commenced

Mills, Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ), a former Navy SEAL, and others are conducting an independent investigation into what went down at the Butler rally on July 13.

Mills stated, “Everything about this shows a complete lack of capability capacity.”

He said that the grim reality is that it’s going to be hard to determine whether or not the security failures were intentional because a lot of time has passed.

Mills explained, “And this is where, in our independent investigation with myself, Eli Crane, Kash Patel, Eric Prince, and a bunch of others who are on there who actually have subject matter expertise, we have determined that we have waited so long that the idea of determining and making it distinguishable from gross negligence or criminal negligence from purposeful intent is going to be almost impossible.”

The Secret Service previously denied Trump’s request for more manpower on his security detail.

A whistleblower told Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) that the lead agent in charge of the Butler rally was incompetent and inexperienced for such a detail.

Mills previously declared during an interview on Fox Business that the official investigation into the Trump assassination attempt was moving at a snail’s pace.

He explained, “I am going to continue my independent investigation . . . It is my understanding that the task force has not even had a conference call or a meeting, so I am not sure what they are doing at this time.”

The questions about the Secret Service’s catastrophic failures will not go away until the American people get some real answers.
