Alina Habba caught Jack Smith’s hand in the cookie jar

Special Counsel Jack Smith is desperate to get just one of his baseless charges against Donald Trump to stick.

He has used the full force of his prosecutor’s office to bully anyone who has gotten in his way, but he may have gone too far with this move.

Now Alina Habba has called out Jack Smith for staging evidence in a bush league tactic that is coming back to haunt him.

Judge Cannon hits the pause button

Judge Aileen Cannon cannot believe the stunts that Special Counsel Jack Smith and his rogue band of prosecutors are pulling in Donald Trump’s classified documents case.

Considering Joe Biden got a slap on the wrist for the exact same offense, it’s a sham that Smith is pressing so hard.

These cases often take roughly two years to go to trial, but Smith has been pushing for a trial to take place less than a year from the indictment.

Everybody knows he wants Trump convicted before the election in November.

The 2024 election calendar is his chief concern.

But Judge Cannon dashed those hopes by indefinitely postponing the documents case to give the court time to work on the numerous pre-trial motions.

Habba said Smith should look in the mirror

Democrats and their media allies were furious at Judge Cannon.

“Resistance” legal commentators raged on CNN and MSNBC how Judge Cannon—by upholding Donald Trump’s due process rights as a defendant—was somehow putting democracy in peril.

MSNBC host Joy Reid even suggested that Cannon was bought off with a Supreme Court nomination.

Trump attorney Alina Habba put these temper tantrums in perspective during an interview on Fox News.

Habba said that what caused Judge Cannon to hit the pause button on this trial was Smith admitting that prosecutors tampered with evidence on the scene at Mar-a-Lago.

Habba said, “Let’s not forget what just came out here — we have found out that Jack Smith has his hand in the cookie jar. . .He was intentionally taking evidence, not telling the court that he had basically taken classified document covers, put them on the wrong documents because they were sloppy.”

The covers were used for a photo op so the Democrat-controlled media could justify the unprecedented raid on a former President’s home.

Habba continued, “And then what they did was put it in a footnote. … When you put it in a footnote as a lawyer, that’s, ‘Hey, I don’t really want to highlight this, but it’s in a footnote’ and the people read it, we caught on.”

Habba praised Judge Cannon refusing to kowtow to the demands of the Democrats by “taking up issues that need to be taken up [is the] kind of law and order that we need to see more of in this country.”

Smith’s bush league move

In a court filing, Smith confessed that prosecutors rearranged the order of some documents saying, “there are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans.”

Jack Smith also wrote in a footnote that “the government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what government counsel previously understood and represented to the court.”

Based on this outrageous conduct, Smith should be lucky that a court delay is his only concern.
