Actor Chris Pratt issued a heartfelt request about the raging wildfires in California that his fans need to hear

The scenes from the Los Angeles fire were horrific on Tuesday.

Wind gusts of up to 100 mph quickly spread the fire across tens of thousands of acres.

And Actor Chris Pratt issued a heartfelt request about the raging wildfires in California that his fans need to hear.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recently embarked on a taxpayer funded overseas trip to attend the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s president.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t have picked a worse time to be absent from her city.

A fast-burning wildfire broke out in the mountains above Pacific Palisades near Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the Palisades fire is burning at a rate of roughly five football fields per minute and thousands of people have already been forced to evacuate their homes.

But two other fires also broke out in Los Angeles County and resulted in at least 70,000 residents being ordered to leave their homes.

Climate scientist Daniel Swain said it may turn out to be the “costliest” wildfire in American history.

“It is plausible that the Palisades Fire, in particular, will become the costliest on record period, not just in California, but in general,” Swain said. “We’ve likely checked that box this time,” he continued. “I’m hoping we don’t check other boxes as well.”

The region had been suffering from a long drought.

And when combined with 80 to 100 mph wind gusts, the entire area turned into a highly flammable landscape.

So far, at least two people have already died from the wildfires and more than 1,000 structures have been completely destroyed.

The Los Angeles area is home to many celebrities and famous actors.

One of those famous individuals includes actor Chris Pratt.

Pratt is a rare specimen in Hollywood.

He’s a Christian and is not ashamed to publicly discuss his faith in Jesus Christ.

Pratt landed a leading role in The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 after starring as Andy Dwyer on NBC’s Parks and Recreation in the late 2000s.

Pratt’s films have grossed billions of dollars worldwide and made him one of the highest-grossing actors in history.

On Tuesday, Pratt issued a heartfelt request to his fans across the country.

He asked them to pray for the folks in Los Angeles who are dealing with the wildfire.

“Join me in praying for the brave firefighters sacrificing so much to save our houses and our town,” Pratt wrote on X. “Jesus protect the lives of those battling the flames and the lives of those who couldn’t evacuate.”

Pratt published a follow-up message within an hour of his first post.

He included horrific photos of the raging fire in his post.

“Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires,” Pratt wrote. “Los Angeles is in a state of emergency and over 30,000 have been ordered to evacuate.”

Pratt also thanked the first responders who are in harm’s way to try and save as much property as possible. 

“Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfire fueled by fierce winds,” Pratt wrote. “You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage.” 

“Let’s all come together to support one another during this tough time,” he concluded.

The bad news is that the fire is 0% contained and the 80 to 100 mph wind gusts are expected to continue throughout Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

Chris Pratt is right.

The people of Los Angeles need all the prayers and support they can get.
