But not everyone in the party is happy with her work as Vice President.
And a border-state Democrat revealed one ugly secret about Kamala Harris that left her a nervous wreck.
Texas Democrat is critical of Kamala Harris’ handling of the border
Texas is ground zero for the border crisis that broke out under President Joe Biden.
The Lone Star State has been overwhelmed by the millions of illegal aliens that have poured across the southern border.
Vice President Kamala Harris was tapped to be the point person for Biden on the border after she was named “Border Czar” in March 2021.
She was widely criticized for not taking the role very seriously by refusing to visit the border until the public pressure became overwhelming.
Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX) represents a border district in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, which is one of the areas hardest hit during the crisis.
He reached out to Kamala’s team about getting help with border security during the early days of the border crisis but he never heard anything back.
“I don’t want to say I told you so, but it did happen the way I said it would happen,” Cuellar said about how the border crisis unfolded. “I think anyone that’s dealt with this issue knows that it’s a very difficult issue, and I do think she distanced herself.”
Kamala’s public relations team in the media is trying to claim that she was never the “Border Czar” and that her only role was searching for the root causes of illegal immigration in Central America.
If that was true, then Cuellar would never have reached out to her office about border security.
Kamala could end the entire controversy by publicly stating she wasn’t the “Border Czar” and that she had nothing to do with border security.
But she won’t do it.
Her campaign is hoping that in a short sprint to Election Day, after a late entrance into the race, she can avoid all scrutiny about her record.
Kamala Harris ran away from the job she was given at the border
It wasn’t that Kamala wasn’t in charge of the border, it was that she avoided the responsibility.
“There was also resentment and a belief among some [of President Joe Biden’s top aides] that she ran away from responsibility — particularly on immigration — rather than trying to tackle a complex issue. Biden felt that as vice president, he embraced tough assignments early on, including withdrawal from Iraq and implementing the stimulus package,” Axios reported.
Not caring about the southern border is a long-running theme of Kamala’s political career.
Former Biden White House chief of staff Ron Klain searched for pictures of her visiting the border when she was California Attorney General to prove to Republicans and critics that she was serious about the problem.
“We wanted to try to find proof that she’d been there during that, but never could find pictures or anything,” Klain said.
Kamala Harris and her allies are trying to fool the public into thinking that she cares about border security now that she’s running for President and that she never shirked her job as “Border Czar.”
